LeftRight Studios is an established mobile entertainment leader in Pittsburgh and we're building games and applications for the iPhone. Our iOS applications have been downloaded more than 1 Million times.
We are experiencing rapid growth and we are expanding our team. You are likely a recent graduate from a top engineering school, or a self-taught computer genius, looking to be part of something big. You will experience every bit of startup life and wear all hats, but ultimately, you must be a kickass programmer who can work wonders with the iPhone SDK. You will work side-by-side with our CTO.
We expect you to be a self-starter and a fast learner, but you will also be coached by some of the best in the business. We pride ourselves on not just making great products, but writing clean, professional code.
You’ll gain tons of experience in a fast-paced environment, and have a lot of ownership over what you do, to a degree largely impossible at bigger companies. Education? Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (preferred).
What to expect
As a small team, we practice agile development so expect to participate in our weekly process, loosely based on Scrum methodology, which includes setting goals, working towards completing them, keeping the team apprised of your progress, and showing off what you’ve accomplished at week’s end.
* Excited about working in a fast-moving, high-profile start-up. You’ll be writing code that will ship within weeks to millions of people. At times, this means there are less predictable work hours, and problems that require more inventiveness to make up for somewhat fewer resources.
* Working on features in our iPhone games and applications, which could include any number of cool things to do with location, social networks (ours and 3rd party networks like Twitter and Facebook), music & sound, incorporation of user-generated content, tying our client code to critical server-side functionality, and building socially connected games that take full advantage of the rich iPhone SDK API.
* Interacting daily with the systems that are used in professional software development: bug tracking, source control, etc.
* Demonstrated fluency in a compiled language Exposure to Objective-C, ideally through some commercial experience (Mac OS X and/or iPhone), a university course, or independent iPhone application development.
