Web Application Engineer

Coursera is looking for Javascript/HTML5 experts to build high quality web applications that bring online courses to our students. As part of our small and agile team of software engineers, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing the front-end designs, and working with other members on the team to integrate the the application into our platform.

We use a variety of technologies in our platform, such as backbone.js, require.js, node.js, jQuery, jade, and more! You don't need to come in knowing all of these; we want talented engineers who can pick up the tools they need on the fly, and who share our passion for writing code that will help millions of students across the world. Innovate on interactive experiences for online education
Architecting and implementing front-end designs and user interactions
Maintain core Javascript code that serves our classes
Work closely with the rest of the team to bring our features into production
Able to take complex problems and break them down into smaller tasks
Expertise with Javascript, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3
Comfortable working across the full web stack
Deep understanding of the front-end web, from delivery (minifying css/js) to working with AJAX
Experience working with Javascript MVC frameworks (a plus)
