Web Analytics Specialist

Overview
The Web Analytics Specialist will report to the Director of Content Strategy & Operations and will be directly responsible for leading Wetpaint’s web analytics strategy. Key to this role is the ability to provide data-driven insights about how users are behaving across the Wetpaint network, translate those insights into specific recommendations and persuade internal stake holders to take action. It’s about using data to help us inform what features we should be optimizing or working on at all. As the go-to team member for business intelligence, you will frequently work across the company and have direct interaction with all members of the executive team. Additionally, this position will take over 1 direct report immediately with potential for additional management growth over time.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analytics leadership – ongoing thought leadership around web analytics best practices and ideas for improving Wetpaint’s analytics.
2. Strategy recommendations – synthesize performance data and communicate key insights to lead functional managers across the company including product development, marketing, and business development.
3. Performance reporting – identify key performance indicators and distribute performance reports using our suite of analytics tools (mostly Omniture, MySQL and GA) and provide data-driven insights to other inquiries as they arise.
4. Partner integration – work alongside the Business Development and Publishing teams to support analytics integration with new partners.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
3-5 years of experience with web analytics, preferably in the consumer publishing or content space
Thorough understanding of web analytics techniques – e.g. A/B testing, segmentation, conversion, etc.
Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree in fields that emphasize quantitative methods (math, science, economics, statistics, etc.)
Skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Omniture experience strongly preferred but other similar packages (WebTrends, Hitbox, Coremetrics) okay
SQL experience
Organized self-starter with excellent presentation and communication skills
BA/BS in quantitative field
