VP, Sales and Biz Dev (Co-Founder)

Overview
Company:
Crosspollinate is a new venture starting to build a service in the Social Media Optimization (SMO) space. The current team has a deep expertise in enterprise SaaS, online advertising and marketing, as well as in social media. We are looking for a sales leader to join the team to help drive sales in this initial phase of growth. The position can evolve to a CEO role is the fit is right.

Opportunity:
This is a co-founder role and key hire for a new venture in the real-time search & marketing space. The company is currently in alpha with a prototype and patent-pending technology, a growing user base and site showing great traction. We are searching for a hands-on head of sales to help build and lead the sales effort. The company intends to build a market-leading technology. The successful candidate will develop a repeatable, predictable sales process, and build a strong sales team to accelerate growth and achieve aggressive targets. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for building a great company.
Responsibilities
Hands-on sales leadership including closing key deals.
Attract, train, and mentor an inside sales team.
Develop a repeatable and predictable sales methodology and process.
Develop strategies and initiatives to ensure the delivery and optimization of sales.
Motivate individuals and team to exceed objectives through coaching, regular broadcast of results, and creative incentives.
Create metrics and regularly report on monthly objectives across demand generation and revenue.
Work closely with marketing, products, technology, and customer success to ensure strong cross-functional alignment to market needs.
Experience
Proven experience managing sales people to achieve and exceed performance goals.
Strong track record in growing revenue and overachievement of quota expectations at early stage companies with inside sales.
Experience developing and building sales processes is a plus.
Experience at SaaS companies (esp. selling to marketing) is a plus.
Candidate must have solid industry relationships , in particular with potential partners, clients and angels/VCs.
Candidate must have recent and significant experience in a leadership role at an online media company.
Must have a proven P&L management experience as a CEO or senior sales executive of at company in the field
Skills
Outstanding communication, coaching, team player, and collaborative leadership skills.
Candidates must have deep understanding of online search and advertising models as well as current industry trends.
Education
BA/BS Degree Required, MBA a plus.
Compensation
Initially an equity-based position.
