This is one description of the attributes of the ideal candidate as VP, Public Relations. And here's one more: unflappable. We compete in a fast, dynamic, ever-changing industry where no two days are ever the same. Our job is to position perceptu as an innovator and leader to our users, members, partners, shareholders, employees and the media. We always lead, and never follow. This position requires an individual who is a proven oral and written communicator with very strong oral presentation skills and the capability of working calmly and effectively in a high-stress environment. This individual must be a self-starter with the capacity to design deals and media partnerships, and should have experience with all facets of media including print, television, radio, online, blogs, RSS feeds, technology and consumer/technology/scientific press and journals.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement corporate communications strategy and plans including press relations, public relations, and general corporate messaging to internal and external constituencies.
Identify and secure speaking and PR opportunities that support key business objectives
Develop and implement plans for utilization of modern communications vehicles (web, blogs, forums) to communicate perceptu messaging.
Manage World Wide Corporate PR – this will include providing support for executive communications activities, including media training. Manage PR budgets, media lists, media calendars and agency relationships.
Leverage experience with all facets of media: print, TV, radio, online, blogs, RSS Feeds, technology and consumer/technology/scientific press and journals to build and position the perceptu brand and product and service offering.
Demonstrate outstanding writing and editing skills, develop and implement crisis communication plans and programs, leverage planning and organization skills to meet deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
