The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for giving technical sales presentations, answering technical questions from potential clients and analyzing and comparing product technical features. The Solutions Engineer must have excellent customer service and communication skills to successfully establish and foster long-term customer relationships and be able to solve customer's technical problems quickly. The Solutions Engineer must also be able to communicate technical product development needs to Basho’s marketing and engineering teams. Solutions Engineers must also keep current on new technology advances, new products and business trends.
Responsibilities
Extensive customer engagement in the presales cycle - consult with, demo and recommend Basho solutions
Contribute in all aspects of the sales cycle - accurate and timely support for presentations, RFP's, SOW's, other sales aids, etc.
Balance daily sales/customer needs with internal support - work with product management, support and marketing on product enhancements
Educate and train sales team on product features, enhancements and roadmaps
Experience
5 – 10 years’ experience with enterprise sales
4+ years’ database, software or storage experience
Skills
Excellent presentation and communications skills
Candidates should have over-plan achievement results for 5-10 years and have an overwhelming passion to exceed customer expectations
Willingness to travel up to 50% as a requirement of the job
Aptitude for startup culture
