Responsibilities
The Java Software Engineer (further JSWEngineer) will be in charge of engineering and implementation of Viewdle’s products launched into production. JSWEngineer will be responsible for requirements analysis, research/prototype, design, and test of Viewdle products given requirements for interfaces, real-time performance, code and product quality, and desirable accuracy of algorithms. Viewdle team is building systems from ground up, however, engineers are encouraged to actively explore and extract algorithms from open source projects.
Skills
Compulsory skills
3+ years of Java (production) development
experience in OOP/OOD
familiarity in web/AJAX interfaces and XML/XSL
HTML, xHTML, XML, W3C coding skills, CSS, XSLT/JSTL, OO JavaScript
experience in unit/functional testing
experience with Java web frameworks
development for Linux environment
code reviewing and development of artifacts of SW development lifecycle
CVS/SVN experience
good spoken and satisfactory written English
Additional Skills
Successful candidates should possess one or several of such skills:
development of user interfaces
development of real-time code
familiarity with ORM (object relational mapping)
experience in audio/video processing or recognition algorithms
rapid prototyping
familiarity in DB design
Education
MS/BS degree. Credit will be given to candidates who have work experience with computationally intensive systems, complicated math algorithms, or large internet projects.
