Overview
Urban Interns (www.urbaninterns.com <http: www.urbaninterns.com=""> ) is a job board for part time jobs and internships. We’re based in NYC. We’ve been around for nearly two years and recently relaunched the site in custom php / Zend framework. We are looking for a php developer to help us take the product to the next level. We’re looking to add new features and do continued product maintenance and development, AB testing etc.
As our new developer, you’ll be doing a little bit of everything – front end, back end, and systems admin work. But the main focus/time spent will be back end. You must be located in NYC or surrounding area.
We’re looking for someone who is excited about working at a startup, and is resourceful in terms of problem solving. This is a great opportunity to work with founders, make a huge impact on the company, and potentially transition to a CTO role over time. Pay will be a combination of cash plus equity.</http:>

Responsibilities

hardware/security maintenance and monitoring
Experience
3+ years experience with front and back end web development
Expert level CSS, including best practices, standards and optimization techniques
Expert with cross-browser compatibility
Expert level html, XHTML
Expert level Lucene, MySQL, PHP, Zend
Knowledgeable in page load time optimization
Experience with OO JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, jQuery
Experience with developing applications using Model View Controller design patterns
Experience with source control and version control tools (preferably Subversion)
Experience with Linux command line
Understanding of Social Networking and Web 2.0 technologies
Experience using 3rd party development API's (Facebook, Google, etc.)
Ability to work in a small team and build consensus with colleagues
