SEO Manager and/or SEO Associate

Overview
This SEO specialist (looking for 1 manager and/or 1 associate) will have (or will build) a successful track record working with large, dynamic media websites. He or she will demonstrate an advanced understanding of SEO tactics, the online industry, search engine algorithms and ranking factors, and possess a forward-looking approach to the search industry and the future of SEO. This SEO specialist will go beyond basics in every assignment. He/she will further the SEO Culture at Experience Project through steady communication of SEO best practices at all levels of the organization.

Media properties this SEO specialist may work on include ExperienceProject.com and TwitCause.com. This SEO specialist may also work with Experience Project’s social media and content team.

Responsibilities
Search Engine Optimization Strategies
Optimizing sites for traditional search engines as well as for real time search, mobile search, video search, image search, international search and more
Staying on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO practices, and emerging items of interest
Developing and executing on advanced inbound linking strategies
Ongoing keyword research, analysis, recommendations and execution
Monitoring competitor sites and the general marketplace and ensuring that Experience Project sites maintain competitive advantages in SEO
Social Media Marketing
Identify, in conjunction with the marketing and content team, and implement strategies for organic traffic acquisition via social networking sites and platforms including Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, and more
SEO & Consumer Products
Conducting ongoing SEO assessments of and implementing SEO best practices for assigned sites
Generating and implementing SEO enhancements with a focus on "quick wins” as well as long term strategies
Overseeing taxonomy strategies and build outs
Generating product requirements and wire frames for SEO product enhancements
Contributing SEO expertise to product plans including site redesigns, product enhancements, and new site features by contributing to other Product Managers’ Requirements Documents
Troubleshooting SEO problems
SEO & Reporting
Reporting on the SEO of assigned properties including regular incremental reports plus analysis of specific SEO or product changes, enhancements or initiatives
Reporting on the overall SEO health of Experience Project’s web properties and rolling up SEO reports in a meaningful way for executive management
SEO Copywriting
Working with the marketing team to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
Experience
SEO Associate: At least 1 year significant SEO experience with online media sites, social networking and/or community sites. Or at least 2 to 3 years of significant experience working in editorial/content, marketing, product or similar area for online media sites, social networking and/or community sites and a strong desire to break into SEO and SMM
SEO Manager: At least 2 to 3 years of significant SEO experience with online media sites, social networking and/or community sites
Skills
Extensive understanding of the search engine industry, industry standards, SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and ranking strategies. And the ability to communicate these items to collegues and executive management teams
Proven ability to optimize for organic search on the major search engines: Google, Yahoo, and BING
Advanced SEO techniques for link building, link baiting, ranking for targeted keywords, increased referrals and conversions
Deep familiarity with programming languages including HTML, DHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, and web technologies including online video, Flash, CSS, RSS
Deep familiarity with social media, community websites, and social networking on the web
Sound understanding of user experience for the web
Knowledge of web analytics and Google Analytics a plus
