We are seeking a database architect with a focus on MySQL. Reporting to our Director of Server Engineering, you will responsible for designing and mapping out Kyte’s future back-end data infrastructure.
5+ years of designing massively scalable MySQL systems in support of high availability and high volume services
4+ years of experience with MySQL Cluster (or similar MySQL clustering technologies)
4+ years working in a Linux environment
2+ years of working with MySQL in a Java development environment
Experience with multiple database upgrades between different versions of MySQL, and transitions to and from MySQL and other databases
Have worked with and can tune both 32 and 64bit MySQL
Ability to write clean, coherent documentation
Ability to understand and master new technologies quickly
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Willingness to learn and to teach
