Director of Sales/Business Development - Remote / U.S.

The Director of Sales/Business Development will be a key member of the management team for one of the hottest startups of 2012. The position will be responsible for new business development nationwide to the Top 200 CPG, OTC, travel, retail, food, beverage, auto, financial and telecom brands (and their agencies and media buying groups). Responsibilities include prospecting for qualified leads, developing strategic sales relationships, and eventually, building a Sales and Client Services team of your own design.

Ideal candidates will have experience growing revenue from zero to $10M. The position will report directly to the CEO and founder.
Sales Expertise:
Consistently meets or exceeds annual sales quotas.
Generate revenue through prospecting and cold calling potential clients.
Proven experience building and managing sales teams.
Manage, renew and up-sell existing clients.
Research and develop prospective strategic partnership targets, assess competitive landscape, and build and manage the sales pipeline.
Successfully penetrate large corporate accounts and agencies.
Industry Knowledge:
Comprehensive digital network and media sales knowledge.
Stay current on online advertising, digital and social marketing trends and major initiatives.
Relationship Building:
Fully developed consultative sales approach.
Educate clients on services and marketing strategies.
Possesses a well-known reputation in the market place.
Extensive client contacts in the CPG, OTC, Auto, Retail, Travel, Financial & Telecom segments.
10+ years of sales experience, at least 5 in the digital media, digital out of home (DOOH) or out of home (OOH) industries
"media buying/ agency/national consumer brand sales expertise is a must have"
Successful sales execution / quota achievement in more than one startup company is essential
Thorough understanding of best practices for operationalizing Sales and Business Development functions in a startup environment
Exceptional prospecting skills and strong closing skills
Must possess an in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of network advertising (digital network, television network, etc.), social marketing and lead gen sales including thorough knowledge of CPM, CPC, CPA / CPL Sales models
Excellent business writing, communication and presentation skills
Executive presence and a dynamic personality adept at working from the C-suite down and vice versa
Strong mix of buy (client) / sell (agency) side sales experience to drive to the value prop that fits depending on your buyer
Strong work ethic; ability to work with minimal supervision
Must thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time while building relationships, closing deals, and establishing the foundation for a dynamic sales organization
