Community Manager/Dir of Community Mktg

Smarterer is a building a platform to test and score people on digital, social and technical skills. Our mission is to give people an easy, fun, and authentic way to show the world what they know. We are looking for a social-media savvy, passionate community manager who will help us spread the word!

Smarterer is built by and for users in various communities, including social media marketers, creative designers, programmers, college students, and job seekers. The Community Manager/ Director of Community Marketing will manage the overall community strategy for the company by creating, leading, and executing initiatives to evangelize Smarterer in these communities. This role calls for tremendous initiative, creativity, ingenuity, and tactical execution abilities.

We are looking for an experienced person who has successfully brought a new consumer web application to the mass market, and created activity and loyalty in the user base. Your background should include a marketing or social media role in a consumer web company where you were instrumental in gaining traction among key user groups.
Develop tactical marketing plans for finding, evangelizing, and building awareness, usage, and loyalty among key user groups.
Execute marketing strategies using a variety of tools including grassroots, influencer-marketing, word-of-mouth, PR, content, and social media.
Build and manage a talented, creative, and energetic team of paid and volunteer marketers whom you’ll deploy to grow communities.
Engage with fans across social media networks to drive usage, loyalty, and buzz.
3- 5 years of proven experience in community management, PR, or social media.
A tremendous sense of initiative combined with an ability to get things done.
You’re a data-driven, analytical thinker who can set goals and measure outcomes.
Strong capabilities using social media tools like facebook and Twitter.
You’ve built a great team of people who did great things!
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Experience with college marketing, crowdsourcing or user-generated content, or running a highly viral product launch - all plusses.
BS/BA in Marketing, Business, or Communications; MBA a plus.
Highly competitive with very early-stage equity
