A small, fast-paced startup in Philadelphia is seeking an Business Development Intern to join our team and help drive our business development and sales activities. Ideal candidates must be entrepreneurial, highly motivated and proactive, with goals beyond just having a job. We are looking for someone who has a passion for social media and appreciates its ever increasing value for marketers and consumers alike. If you are a current graduate or undergraduate student with a focus on business management and marketing, then you might be who we are looking for.
Be involved in all business development activities, from methodology to execution
Research and develop strategic marketing plans to reach our target customers
Work with COO to develop and manage sales and marketing budget
Build Business Development client list and make calls/ send emails as needed
Participate in design and creation of promotional material
Represent company at various events
Establish milestones, goals and track progress
Generate reports on project status
Previous experience in a direct sales role or in event promotion is a plus.
Requirements for this position include a blend of skills necessary to develop and execute a sales plan directed at a specifically targeted SME market.
Superb verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including outstanding persuasion and presentation skills are highly valued.
Applicants must be well organized, creative and driven to help make this startup business a success.
The ideal candidate must be flexible concerning daily tasks and be able to adapt to rapidly changing projects.
There will be responsibilities that at first feel over your head as well as necessary tasks that may seem beneath your well-rounded set of skills.
Current student or recent graduates (undergrad and MBA) with focus on business administration or marketing
This is an unpaid internship but that does not mean you cannot make money! Yes, our primary motivator is the experience you will receive in working at a fast-paced, quickly evolving startup. However, if you do well and are successful, we are more than happy to give out true monetary bonuses.
