API Software Developer

Overview
We’re looking for engineers to develop and launch a set of revolutionary mobile and web health and wellness services. Responsibilities
Quickly audit/understand/own existing API code base for top health/wellness device partners including but not limited to OLAP, REST, JSON and OAUTH
Identify key scaling/stability pain points and architect/implement solutions, allowing GoodChime! to keep up with explosive growth in user base.
Iterate rapidly on new features, working closely with client-side teams and product design teams to elegantly design and implement new APIs.
Experience
3+ years working with robust and large scale production systems
Extensive experience with PHP 5 and object-oriented programming
Extensive experience with MySQL or a similar relational database including designing schemas and writing efficient queries
Skills
Strong understanding of best practices around web operations, software development, release engineering, and quality assurance
Experience building REST/HTTP/XML API's to support apps on iOS, Android, etc.
Experience with PHP frameworks, profiling & debugging, and unit-testing.
Experience with authentication schemes and security, including but limited to Single Sign On
Experience with data mining and profiling
Experience with NoSQL database systems and cloud systems
Education
4 year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar is preferred but not required. All applicants with a relevant product portfolio will be considered.
Compensation
Payment based on experience, subject to negotiation.
20 hour discovery period over 2 weeks, 50% paid at start, 50% paid at end of period
After discovery period, either contract to permanent after 1 month or 6 month contract commitment
