The Sonatype, Inc. Mission
Sonatype is a privately-held company originally founded in 2008 by Jason van Zyl, the creator of Apache Maven. Sonatype commits all of its resources to the company’s motto of “Transforming Software Development.”
Our open source and commercial products are designed to streamline modern software development while improving enterprise control and reducing risk.
Sonatype places enormous value on the collaborative relationship that we have with the open source community. Over the years, we’ve contributed significant enhancements to Maven Central, Nexus, and now Hudson while developing multiple value-added products and services to make it easier for you to deliver better software faster. We donated our m2eclipse project to the Eclipse foundation in 2008 and plan to do the same with Tycho, which is being used today to build popular Eclipse plugins like the JBoss IDE, the Scala IDE and Mylyn. We encourage you to learn more about our OSS contributions.
Sonatype Insight delivers actionable quality, security, and licensing information about open source components utilized throughout your organization. Insight is proactive, non-invasive, and non-disruptive. By integrating with your existing tools and processes, Sonatype Insight lets you deliver better software faster.
