The Runa Inc. Mission
To disrupt the online retailing space, especially in the small to medium to the not-very-large range. If we're successful, the impact will be in the same order of magnitude as Google's AdWords was to advertising.
Our Products
We're building a SaaS service that online merchants can use to provide dynamic pricing for their products. The price is customized to the individual consumer, and is based on his browsing habits, patters of behavior, rules set by merchants, seasonal data, current affairs, etc. All this in real time.
Zero investment for merchants, and the USP is that by changing prices for individual consumers, we can increase sales and optimize profits. Think airline-prices but for any product, customized per consumer, in real-time.
Our Team
Founder is a serial entrepreneur. Among his companies, 2 were IPOs and 1 was a billion dollar exit. Other companies also did well, and are still operating in various stages.
Team is a small, dynamic group of folks - lots of experience in building succesful businesses. This is true for all positions - CEO, CTO, sales and marketing.
Technology is absolutely fantastic - Rails for web-front-end stuff, Clojure and Hadoop/HBase on the back-end (for all our analytics).
Life at Runa Inc.
Very chilled out atmosphere... all macs (30" screens, MacPro for office, MacbookPro for home)... wear shorts and sandals... flexible work hours (as long as work is getting done, we're cool!)
Lunch is brought in on most days of the week. Beer, soda and snacks are in the office at all times.
We host the Bay Area Clojure User Group (meetup) at the office (I started the group) and also the Bay Area Lean Software Development meetups.
We love open-source, and have opened up a lot of the code we've written so far.
