The Parichute Mission
To provide a smart and modern marketplace where horseracing fans can easily analyze a race, buy a pick from a Pro, or sell a pick to a newbie.
We believe that picking horses is much like picking stocks...there's lots of data, lots of hidden value, and lots of uncertainty. But with the right insights and resources, you can make a few bucks!
We live by our own KISS principle: Keep It Smart and Simple.
Our site is in prototype stages with no paying users, but rather a bunch of test users who rave about our product. We placed a huge emphasis on design and user experience, while making sure our marketplace and algorithms actually work and help you make money (although nothing in life is guaranteed).
Our marketplace focuses around buying and selling horse picks. Pro handicappers post picks for sale (typically $3 to $10) with the ability to push real time updates to their audience. Newbies can jump on our site to buy picks from rated and reviewed handicappers...so they know who is the real deal.
Our algorithms rate the horses based on our proprietary formula to help you spot value bets beyond the odds. With a little time and discipline, you have a nice shot at making a profit...if that's your thing.
We have 6 members on our team:
Marcos (me): Founder, MBA, 10yrs Technology Product Management, fitness geek. Marcos makes it happen.
Jon: SEO and marketing lead, MBA, web marketing extraordinaire, knows a bunch of legal stuff to keep us out of trouble. Jon makes it grow.

Life at Parichute
We work virtually out of our homes and meet up by phone every week and at a bar or restaurant once a month. We're all in San Diego and have other things going on while we build up Parichute.
It's been a year now and we're ready to launch. Rodrigo is coding the front end, and we need someone to code the backend stuff (PHP). We're fun to work with and easy to get along with...but we're also focused and ambitious.
Someone who is hard working, reliable, smart, and has a sense of humor would make a great fit.
