CrowdJewel (www.crowdjewel.com) is an NYC-based e-commerce startup that brings to market jewelry designs based on the crowd vote. Jewelry designers submit designs, our community gives feedback, and CrowdJewel manufactures and sells the winners. Some people call us the Threadless for jewelry, and we (with Threadless folks as our advisors) are certainly not opposed to that description!

My co-founder Courtney and I love jewelry, and were bonded by a desire to elevate the independent jewelry designer (of whom there are 6 million online) in a market dominated by the big retailers. Sure, there are sites like Etsy, but designers compete with thousands of other designers there, and consumers face wild variance in pricing/quality across their purchases.

We wanted to be the middle (wo)men. We wanted to give designers a fun way to show off their skills, while giving jewelry enthusiasts access to original, quality pieces with a special designer story behind each of them.

CrowdJewel was founded by two women under 30, Courtney and Janelle. Our CEO Courtney recently earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Janelle is working on her MS in Computer Science from Stanford (she earned her BS degree in CS from there as well).

Our office space is located in the heart of the NYC Flatiron District, on 26th Street between 6th and 7th Ave!
