The Blist Mission
At blist we’re dedicated to delivering the best experience for sharing lists on the web. Consumers and knowledge workers now have the power of a relational database, combined with a user interface that is easier than a spreadsheet. Sharing blists online is simple.
Whether you use Excel or a database today, blist is the best choice for easily creating and sharing lists on the web. With the drag-and-drop simplicity of blist, you’ll be able to organize the information that’s important to you, from making a personal to-do list to building a sophisticated business database. With blist, your list is visual, interactive, and always neat and tidy.
blist is free for consumers. Eventually we’ll introduce some inobtrusive advertisements to the consumer version, allowing us to continue to offer blist for free indefinitely. Later this summer we’ll introduce a premium version designed primarily for small businesses. The premium version will be ad free, have virtually unlimited storage and a few other premium features that we’re working on now. More details on our upcoming pricing plans can be found on our pricing page.
blist is a company of passionate professionals. We’re passionate about making great software. That’s what we do. We like it. We’re a small but focused team. Mark makes sure the user experience is terrific. Justin, Paul, Jeff, Sam, Kostub, Matt and another Justin write the code. Chris keeps the engineers coding. Mathew, Jon and Amy talk to blist users, the media, and all sorts of folks making sure that we make what people want and people know what we make. Pat keeps everyone accountable. Kevin watches with amazement and dreams of when he used to code.
The blist engineering team combines strong academic computer science foundations with significant success and relevant experience at places like Microsoft and Amazon. Our founder is an accomplished entrepreneur and technologist whose last startup was acquired by Microsoft in 2005.
Life at Blist
Our office is located in the heart of Seattle’s start-up district, Pioneer Square.
blist is an early stage, well-capitalized startup in Seattle. We are not a company with modest ambitions. We’re building a rich Internet application that will disrupt the decades-old database market, and open it up to a new constituency - mainstream users who want results but who don’t have the time or inclination to become database wizards (although we think database wizards are pretty cool).
blist is new. The core team is small and tight knit - just a handful of passionate software engineers, UX designers and marketing folks.
